Sustainability

Sustainability is defined as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their
own needs." (UN)
We see Castleknock TidyTowns (CTT) as custodians and guardians of Castleknock for future generations and our aim is leave Castleknock greener, cleaner and more sustainable for residents going forward.

Castleknock TidyTowns is a testament to the power of collective action and that small changes can make a big difference. Check out below what you can do to become more sustainable and add to our mission.

Our Sustainability Mission:

Castleknock is a More Sustainable Community

*Moving from ‘Gardeners’ to ‘Guardians of nature’, from ‘Tidy’ to ‘Fostering Sustainable Communities’...

*Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs’

*Creating a sustainable, inclusive environment for people, animals, insects, bees, worms, microorganisms, plants and trees (our green companions).

Castleknock TidyTowns places significant focus on being an ‘Environmental, Sustainability and Climate Action Group’. We identify key sustainability and environmentally friendly projects. We prioritise and implement projects and practices with the biggest long-lasting impact and value for the local Community within our area of influence.
