On Saturday 5th Aug, a dozen or so CTT volunteers braved the elements to tackle a few jobs on Auburn Avenue. One team began verging along the Avenue itself to widen the paths. Other volunteers began to weed the large pollinator bed on Church Green. The memorial tree within that bed is now full of green berries so it'll look great in a few weeks when the berries redden up. While the morning started off reasonably dry, the gound was very wet. The hundreds of miniature toadstools in the flower bed were a physical testament to the wettest July on record. As the morning progressed monsoon-like rain began to fall for a short while but the large trees nearby provided volunteers with some shelter. Then in no time the sun shone again and the volunteers got on with the work. At 12 noon, it was all back to Myo's for refreshments and some home baking. Hopefully the second half of this weeding task will be completed on Wednesday evening. Well done folks and thanks again to everyone who helped!
