Firstly, thanks to everyone who brought along items for our pop up appeal (for displaced Ukrainians arriving in Ireland). We received over 300 travel sized toiletries. Thanks to a generous local family we got a giant box of toothbrushes and hundreds of small tubes of toothpaste. Thanks to a local businessman (and his wife who follows us on social media), we received BOXES of USB plugs, lightning charging cables, sets of earphones and mini wifi speakers. We managed to fill a small van and delivered the items to the reception centre last night. We met some recent arrivals who were very grateful for all the items, particularly the phone chargers and plugs. We received a lovely message of thanks today!
Secondly, 15 volunteers did a clean up along College Road. Volunteers removed litter and weeds from the cobblelock and weeded the colourful pollinator flower bed and area around the pink painted utility box. Afterwards the team headed back to Myo's for refreshments which included tray bakes from Judie. Always a big hit.
Thanks to everyone who donated to the appeal and helped out this weekend.
