500 native Irish tree whips have been gifted by Castleknock TidyTowns to local schools:
St Brigid's N.S.
Castleknock N.S.
C.E.T.N.S.
Scoil Thomáis, Laurel Lodge
Some of the trees were planted in school grounds whilst the vast majority were taken home by pupils to plant in their own gardens or to be grown on in pots. As you can see from the photos, there was lots of excitement! Thanks to the dedicated teachers who supported this initiative to combat climate change. And a special thanks goes to the pupils who shared their planting action photos with us!
Thanks too goes to Fingal County Council for the advice which guided this initiative.
