Friday, 1st December 7pm to 8.15pm
Castleknock TidyTowns in conjunction with Fingal County Council will host the official lighting up of the Christmas tree in Castleknock village on Friday 1st December, from 7pm.
To ensure everyone’s safety and to mitigate against any inclement weather, the event will begin inside St Brigid’s Church initially. There will be festive music as people arrive. Rev. Colin McConaghie and Fr. Damian McNeice will say a few words. Then the award-winning choir from St Brigid’s National School will treat those in attendance to a short performance. Then everyone will head outside to watch as Mayor of Fingal Cllr. Adrian Henchey officially turns on the lights.
Afterwards, everyone is welcome to a warming cuppa and refreshments in the church.
You are invited to come along and join in this community event.
Note: On Friday 1st Dec, the graveyard will be cordoned off for the evening and will not be accessible while this event is taking place. The parking spaces immediately in front of the church will be cordoned off all day. The graveyard gates will be closed to cars from 3pm. The pedestrian gates will remain open all day. For public safety reasons, only disabled parking will be available within the church grounds on the evening of Friday 1st Dec for the event.
