Castleknock Women Celebrated

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Fingal County Council are exhibiting 45 photos and stories showcasing the leadership of women across Fingal, who are playing a vibrant role in community action. Three of those women are from Castleknock!

• Castleknock TidyTowns nominated our volunteers Leisha Heffernan and Judie Glynn for their sterling work as former CTT founding committee members and their sustained work with plants/flowers in the green areas of Castleknock.

• Castleknock Community Centre nominated Marie McCaffrey for her great work in setting up a number of book clubs in Castleknock.

Well done to all of the ladies photographed. The exhibition, with 45 beautiful portrait photographs, was launched on Monday evening by Mayor of Fingal, Cllr. Howard Mahony. The project was led by the Fingal Community Development Office and the 'She Leads' Advisory Committee. All photos were taken by a volunteer photographer, Monica Manzzi, a member of the advisory committee.

The Through Our Eyes, the Power of Women's Leadership in Community Action Photography Exhibition will display in Fingal County Council, County Hall Swords now and in some of the larger Fingal Libraries from March to May 2023.
