Castleknock Tidy Towns once again organised the Lighting Up event in Castleknock Village this year. Fingal County Council arranged for the beautiful Christmas tree to be positioned, primed, and ready for the occasion🎄
St. Brigid’s Church was filled to capacity as St. Brigid’s Senior Choir, under the direction of Niamh Williams, delivered a wonderful performance. Prayers were led by Rev. Colin McConaghie, and Rev. Natasha Quinn-Thomas blessed the tree.
Following the service, attendees gathered outside to enjoy a performance by the Castleknock Lawn Tennis Club Christmas Choir, directed by Josephine Barry.
The highlight of the evening was the ceremonial switching on of the Christmas tree lights, led by Ellie Tsalkitzis and Kate Hiney from St. Brigid’s Senior Choir. CTT volunteers then provided refreshments inside the church.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Roderic O’Gorman and Emer Currie, both successful in the recent General Election, as well as Councillors Eimear Carbone-Mangan, Ted Leddy, Siobhán Shovlin, and John Walsh.
Thanks to FCC and everyone who organised, participated in and attended this lovely occasion. The event and tree always add a special community sparkle to Castleknock village ✨
